Any chemical structure, reaction scheme, vector illustration, document, coordinate file (CDXML, MOL, SDF, SVG, PNG, JSON), or data you produce using Kemi Studio belongs solely and unconditionally to you. Kemi Studio claims no copyright, patent, licensing rights, or ownership over your scientific findings or designs.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Kemi Studio web application (kemistudio.app), standalone builds, or desktop releases, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the software.
2. License Grants and Editions
- Community Edition: Granted free of charge for personal, academic, educational, and evaluation purposes. You may draw structures, review documents, and use built-in chemistry tools.
- Pro & Commercial Editions: Granted upon activation with a valid license key or cryptographic license certificate. Licenses are allocated per user seat and permit activation across the licensed number of devices (default 2 devices per seat).
- Academic / Non-Commercial: For accredited educational institutions, educators, and research students.
3. Acceptable Use and Restrictions
When using Kemi Studio and its edge services, you agree not to:
- Circumvent or tamper with cryptographic license validation, seat limit counters, or access controls.
- Generate, distribute, or publish unauthorized license keys.
- Attempt denial-of-service attacks, probe vulnerabilities, or flood Kemi Studio edge endpoints.
- Use the application in any manner that violates applicable national or international laws or chemical export control regimes.
4. Computational & Chemical Disclaimers
Kemi Studio includes algorithms for Cahn-Ingold-Prelog (CIP) stereochemical perception, aromaticity detection, IUPAC naming assistance, SMILES generation, and stoichiometric balance calculation.
Professional Chemical Responsibility: While we strive for rigorous scientific accuracy matching ACS and IUPAC standards, computational chemistry heuristics may produce unexpected results for novel or complex molecular configurations. Kemi Studio is provided as an authoring and research aid and does not replace the professional judgment of qualified chemical researchers or laboratory safety protocols.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
KEMI STUDIO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
6. Termination
We reserve the right to revoke or suspend license keys found to be in violation of these Terms (e.g., fraudulent distribution or license piracy).
